FAQs

  • TThere’s no single “right” reason to come to therapy. Some people seek support during a crisis or after a traumatic event, while others come because something doesn’t feel quite right — even if they can’t fully explain why.

You might feel overwhelmed, stuck in unhelpful patterns, or struggling in relationships. You might simply want to understand yourself better. Whatever brings you here, therapy offers a safe and confidential space to explore your thoughts and feelings, gain clarity, and begin creating meaningful change.

If you’re unsure whether therapy is right for you, we can talk this through in an initial consultation to see whether it feels like the right fit.

  • You can get in touch in whatever way feels easiest for you — by filling in the contact form on this website, sending me an email, or contacting me directly on 07983 909 913 via call, text, or WhatsApp

  • The first session is a chance for us to get to know each other and begin building a shared understanding of what’s brought you to therapy. I’ll invite you to talk a little more about the difficulties you’ve been experiencing, and together we’ll start to explore relevant parts of your history to help make sense of things in context.

We’ll also think about what you’d like to get out of therapy — what positive change might look like for you — and agree on some initial goals to guide our work. Most importantly, it’s an opportunity for you to get a feel for whether this space and approach feel right for you.

  • That’s absolutely ok. The first session is as much about you getting a sense of me and how I work as it is about me understanding your situation. There’s no obligation to continue if it doesn’t feel like the right fit.

If you decide not to go ahead, we can discuss possible next steps together — whether that’s taking some time to think things over, exploring alternative approaches, or finding another therapist who may be a better match for your needs. The aim is always to help you find the support that feels right for you.

  • Each session lasts between 50 and 60 minutes. The number and frequency of sessions will depend on your individual needs and goals, and we can discuss what feels most helpful at the start.

You’ll always have the freedom to decide how long you’d like to continue therapy — some people come for a few sessions to focus on a specific issue, while others choose longer-term work to explore things in more depth.

  • Individual session fee: £120 per 50–60 minute session. Payment is due on the day of your appointment by bank transfer.

Couples Therapy and Family Therapy are charged at a higher rate of £140.

I am a registered provider with Bupa, AXA, Aviva and Vitality.

I offer both in-person sessions at my consulting room in Chislehurst, South-East London, and online therapy for those who prefer greater flexibility.

If you need to cancel or reschedule, please give at least 48 hours’ notice to avoid being charged for the session. I understand that unexpected circumstances can arise, and we can always discuss this if something urgent comes up.

Before starting therapy, I offer a free 15-minute consultation, giving us a chance to talk through what’s bringing you to therapy and whether working together feels right for you.

  • This varies depending on your individual needs and circumstances. Sessions are most often held weekly, but they can also take place fortnightly or at another pace that feels right for you.

The frequency of sessions can also change over time as your needs evolve — some people prefer regular ongoing support, while others reduce sessions gradually as therapy progresses.

We can talk about what feels most helpful for you during our initial 15-minute consultation.

  • Yes — everything you share in therapy is treated as confidential. This means that what you discuss with me stays between us.

There are a few important exceptions to this, such as if I become concerned that you or someone else is at serious risk of harm. If this were ever the case, I would always aim to talk with you about it first, wherever possible, before sharing any information.

I’ll explain how confidentiality works in more detail during our first session so that you feel fully informed, safe, and comfortable.

  • When working with children or young people, I recognise that parents and carers play a vital role in supporting emotional wellbeing. I usually begin with an initial meeting with parents or carers to gather background information and understand your concerns.

Depending on the age and needs of your child, we may agree to have regular check-ins or review meetings to share general updates about how things are going — always with your child’s consent and involvement, where appropriate.

Confidentiality is essential for young people to feel safe in therapy, so I won’t share details of what’s said in sessions unless there’s a safeguarding concern or your child specifically asks for something to be shared. Wherever possible, I encourage open communication between young people and their families, and will help support this as part of the therapeutic process.

  • People come to therapy for many different reasons — sometimes in response to a specific event, and sometimes because of long-standing patterns that feel hard to change.

I work with adults experiencing a wide range of emotional and psychological difficulties, including traumaanxietylow moodrelationship problemsfeelings of shame or low self-worth, and difficulty managing emotions. I also support individuals who have experienced abuseloss, or significant life transitions, as well as those who want to understand themselves more deeply and build healthier relationships.

You can read more about these areas — and how I can help with each — on the homepage.
